    Re: prop

JP is the right decision. After using it for a while I feel it is needed for this boat. It allows you to select the proper motor depth for your use at that time. Putting it on the trailer is all...

    Re: prop

4 blade 15p with a ton of tip cup. Using the 17p is a little to much with 3 people on the boat. Mount the motor on the middle hole and you should get about 4 to 4 1/2 inches before you blow out. ...

No it is the standard height. When you are running the motor at full 6" over you will blow out on trim before the motor hits the platform. But you will have to lower it if you dont want to drag...

My poor fish, lol. They have been pretty consistent there. On Tuesday I saw a pod on the north side of the bar with some in the 140-160 range. Have not really seen any boats on them.
  6. Re: Keep the Reports from Sun Country Coming - - - Thanks!

We are finding the same problem in the passes. You cast a BIG white bait out and want to change it's position. If you reel to fast a mack will steal your rig. They are massive too!

Put up half a dozen macks in short order at AMI City Pier. All on fly, in 20mph headwind.

    Re: Fly tying Vice

Do it! It is just another step in the progression of the obsession. Fooling a fish with something that you made with your bare hands is much more intense.

    Re: Lostmen

Yes, but I caution running with line stripped out. The wind can make your fly line fake over itself and lead to a knot. Easly fixed by a pratice cast, or a damp towel over the line when running. ...

    Re: Lostmen

It runs shallower than I am comfortable running. The JP is a must. Hole shot is great with the 4 blade prop. Figure you are spinning a 14p prop with the honda and a 17p on the etec. The 4 blade prop...

It's a great motor. It doesn't use oil like the Yami. On break in you will go through about half a gallon. After that it is less than a shot glass a month. Gas, Only ever use less than 5 gallons a...

Just an echo of what other people are saying. I always put eyes on. I was told that the predator fish try to attack from the blind spot and make eye contact first.

Re: Help picking a push pole

Loop > Mangrove. I have used both, and the loop is 100x better. The Mangrove has to much flex, and the Loop is just right. Joe has it figured out! 23ft is a good length.
