    Default Ventage owners!!!!!!

I fish and run skinny most of the time and I keep going Back and forth thinking about if i need a jack plate and i have some questions, you guys have a jack plate?
If not, Do you guys wish you had one?
What's the general opinion about this mod? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Giovanni,
If you are fishing South Shore, Cockroach, Miguel Bay, Tierra Ceia areas, get a jack plate. It makes it easy to idle around in the shallows, high speed skinny water runs, and lifting the motor while trailering.

We fish all over Tampa Bay and SW Fla areas like Bull Bay, Turtle Bay, Johnson Shoals, crossing many shoals and sand bars. So it works for us.

It might increase draft or add a little weight but it will not keep you from catching fish.

I think the advantages far outweigh the little bit of draft you may lose....

We have a JP on our Vantage! I cannot imagine having another flats boat without a jP! The boat will get up in 2' with ease! The boat will run shallow enough to make you question your self if you should continue on. We can get up in a boat length or less!!!!!!!!! Idling is a big plus, since we are always pushing the envelope on this fishing machine. Props and lower units are not cheap! Any QUESTIONS?

Ok that what I need it to know thanks guys thanks at lot.
My Next question is I am going with the 90 etec for draft reason don't care about speed I actually enjoy my slow rides on the water.
Should I do the atlas 4" set back or the atlas micro jack ?
The difference is only about 1" set back

I would do the micro. the least amount of offset will give you best draft numbers by keeping the weight closer to the hull.

What Pollack said - go micro or go home!
I hate to advocate violence, drugs an alcohol but they seem to work for me.

I have a vantage with suke 90, I do NOT have a JP. I dont miss it, don't need it, less weight, one less thing that can break. I kept my weigth to a minimum, I probably have the lightest Vantage on the water. The hole shot is great and have not found myself wishing I had one. For my type of fishing there was little benefit on having one. My two cents!!!

Can you get a JP with anything less than a 4" setback for a 150?

What is you true draft with two anglers and gears?
    What is your top speed?
    Thanks.
